Bladefence is pleased to announce the appointment of Pentti Iso-Markku as the new Managing Director of Bladefence Oy, effective September 1st, 2017. Bladefence’s current Managing Director Ville Karkkolainen will focus on Canadian market and North American business development.
As a part of larger reorganizing of Janneniska Group’s business activities announced today, Bladefence has signed a contract to acquire Janneniska’s skylift fleet in Europe ranging in reach from 90 meters to 104 meters.
Finnish wind power producer Suomen Hyötytuuli and Bladefence have signed a 5-year Spindurance blade maintenance contract, which covers Suomen Hyötytuuli’s all onshore turbines in Finland. The fleet consists of 39 wind turbines, including Vestas 3.3 MW and Siemens 2.3 MW turbines.
Bladefence’s parent company, Finnish skylift company Janneniska Oy, has made a multimillion euro investment to Bladefence in order to support the market expansion in Canada.

Bladefence and Haminan Energia have signed a six-year Spindurance blade maintenance agreement which covers the four WinWind WWD-3 turbines at Summa wind farm in Hamina, Finland.
We have now welcomed the year 2016 and even many of the Southern parts of Finland have finally received a white cover of snow.The start of the winter was unusually mild, which allowed normal blade maintenance to be carried out until November / December even in the Nordic countries. Now the real winter has arrived, and the cold climate sets its own challenges on the blades and the blade maintenance work up north. We cannot emphasize enough the increased need of regular maintenance in order for the blades to remain intact in the icy weather conditions. Planned and preventive blade maintenance is the key.
